Fighting Hunger

Minnesota FoodShare recruits thousands of people for the March Campaign, the largest fund and food drive for local food shelves in the state, promotes growing of healthy food through its GardenShare and Harvest Campaign projects and raises awareness of hunger issues, good nutrition and access to government food programs.

For more than 30 years, we have partnered with local food shelves to bring food to those in need in communities throughout the state. The Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign brings together hundreds of companies, civic groups, schools and congregations to help keep 300 food shelves statewide stocked throughout the year. This grassroots campaign is our most enduring program but far from our only effort to help the hungry.

During the growing season, GardenShare, the Harvest Campaign and Mini-Farmer’s Markets help bring nutritional fresh produce from individual and community gardens to local food shelves and to low-income areas. We annually bring together the dedicated and motivated members of the hunger community to exchange ideas and work together to address the challenge. Throughout the year, we are strong advocates on hunger issues at local, state and national levels.
