For 33 years Metro Paint-A-Thon has helped low-income seniors, veterans, and people with permanent physical disabilities, continue to live independently in their own homes.
Since 1984, volunteer teams have helped more than 6,500 homeowners with exterior paint projects. Metro Paint-A-Thon is diligent about ensuring each year that homes are appropriately matched with a volunteer team based on painting needs, location, and home size preference of a team. We engage groups from local faith partners, businesses, service organizations, and community groups to provide the service at no cost to the homeowner.
In 2017 Metro Paint-A-Thon hopes to service 70+ homes in neighborhoods all around the Metro/Greater Minneapolis and St.Paul area, but we can't do this without you!
Here is how you and your group can help:
- Volunteer: Take part in one of the most satisfying and rewarding volunteer experiences around. Paint the home of a senior citizen or disable adult in the 7-county metro area. You will be helping the homeowner to continue to live with dignity and independence in their own home.
- Donate: For those who cannot paint, but still wish to contribute, a donation is always welcome. Gifts from corporations, foundations, paint teams and individuals allow us to run an efficient, well-organized program and enable us to continue to offer our services to homeowners free of charge. To make a difference, consider the opportunity to sponsor a home. A sponsorship of $2000 completely covers the program’s cost of painting a Paint-A-Thon home.
- Offer product or repair services: We rely on donated products to equip our teams and care for our clients’ homes. We are very grateful for donated services. Often minor repairs are needed before painting can be done. If you, or someone in your organization, has handyperson skills and would like to donate your time, we would love to hear from you.
The Metro Paint-A-Thon painting weekend is August 5-6, 2017, however, dates are flexible (upon request) to accommodate your team or homeowner schedules.
For more information about any of these opportunities, please contact Megan Young at 612-276-1548 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to working with you!
