Division of Indian Work

A Tradition Of Caring For American Indians

We are the oldest social and human services organization serving American Indians in Minneapolis. Our main program areas – Healing Spirit, Health ServicesStrengthening Family Circles, and the Youth Leadership Development Program – help families navigate day-to-day challenges and empower them in pursuit of a healthier future. Through counseling, advocacy, education, leadership development and direct assistance, we serve the needs of the American Indian community in the Twin Cities and throughout the state. For more than 60 years, we have taken this mission to heart while continuing to honor our cultural traditions.

The Division of Indian Work is launching a new initiative called Feed the DIW Family to fund healthy, fresh-cooked meals for evening participants in DIW programs. Please consider sponsoring a meal in the amount of $100 by contacting Lisa Jacobson at ljacobson@gmcc.org or 612-276-1501.
