ACCOUNTABILITY

The greater Minneapolis Council of Churches proudly meets all standards of the Charities Review Council. In addition, we ensure your donation goes where you intend it to. GMCC spends an average of 15 percent of its annual revenues on fundraising and administration -- well below the industry standard.

ANTI-RACISM STATEMENT

The Boards of Directors and staff of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches (GMCC) and the Division of Indian Work (DIW) are committed to continuing our evolution into an anti-racist multi-cultural organization. We believe such an organization:

  • Creates an environment that affirms and shares differences
  • Ensures that cultural and racial voices are heard before policies are set and decisions are made
  • Uses resources justly with regard to race and culture, commits to ongoing education about racism
  • Acknowledges and celebrates the contributions of racial and cultural groups
  • Periodically updates and continually monitors efforts at becoming an anti-racist, multi-cultural organization
  • Encourages and supports efforts of others to become anti-racist and multi-cultural
  • Works for racial justice in our community

We further commit to implementing these values in the following practices of GMCC/DIW:

  • Governance (all policies, practices, and structures that are instrumental to fulfilling our organizations' missions)
  • Programming (what we do and how we serve the community)
  • Human resources development (utilization of paid staff and volunteers to carry out our organization's mission and implement our programs)
  • Community partnerships (the development of collaborations and partnerships with diverse communities in our organization's program areas)
  • Business and administration (accessibility of our organization's facilities, contracts, and business to communities of color).
